News from the top of my head

Hello readers!
As you might be able to guess, I haven't really planned this post out as I usually do but I would just like to talk about a few things! Completely from the bloom I would just like to get of my chest that I have one my first game of monopoly since getting back into it! I started playing with my family on Christmas day and haven't stopped playing when I have got the chance! Apart from that Chelsea have managed to draw another game and Manchester United have won their first away game so things aren't going to well there... Elsewhere in Italy A.C Milan have signed striker Antonio Cassano from Sampdoria after falling out of favour with their chairman. I am now hoping I Will be able to post more regularly fromow on as I return to England from my Christmas! I also hope Preston get their act together as they are now bottom of the table and losing to Crystal Palace, as they are my favourite championship club!  And  there is still time to vote on my poll! I would also like to say the one vote so far will be cancelled as I did it by accident!

Happy New Year!

I would just like to say to everyone who has been reading my blog thank you ever so much and I hope to attract more visitors! I hope I will be able to write about once or twice a week on the topics I currently write about ans maybe something new! Football wise, 2010 has been very big with the world cup and the quality of football provided, as well as the Premier league, La Liga and Serie A with teams managing to pull of doubles and trebles! As well as this Messi and Barcelona have proved they are probably the best in the world with basically the whole Barca squad being in the Spain world cup squad and producing the three players for the ballon D'or or whatever its called and producing some outstanding football! I wish i could make this post go on for longer but I am running out of time! Hopefully I will be able to write some more about this soon, but here are some of the bet bits(in my opinion!)

Premier league, Christmas round up, 26th-28th December

Hello readers,
sorry I haven't been posting for a while, I am abroad with family and Internet here is very expensive. I also hope everyone had a very happy Christmas! Now with the Christmas period kicking-off, this meant a lot of festive fixtures, With Arsenal playing Chelsea and Villa against spurs, Which I would like to talk about. Having won with a brace from Van Der Vart, for me he has been one of the signings of the season, as he is one of those players who can create a goal from nothing and make moments of wonderful skill count. I think it is vital for a team to have a player like this as it can produce some light at the end of the tunnel when a team is on a bad run of form. He reminds me of Oliver Norwood who I took on loan from Man.u on fm10 with Notts County when we were struggling and won me vital games with his long shots and free-kicks, so this is another amazing acquisition from whealer-dealer Harry and Spurs. He would probably be the perfect manager for Man.City with his skills in the transfer market and city's money, Who had to rely on star player Mr.Tevez transfer request to bag a brace to beat Newcastle 3-1 away from home, Who Should NEVER have sacked Hughton, Who I think will be England manager as Redknapp won't want to leave, or Hodgson. Apart from that, Man.u extended their lead at the top of the table with a brace from Berbatov to see of Sunderland, whilst Avram Grant secured his job with a 3-1 win against Fulham.
That's all for now!

Premier league week 18 snow-blow, European Christmas Break

Hard at it: Groundstaff clear the Portman Road pitch at half-time during Ipswich's 3-0 win over Leicester
Hello readers,
Try and guess why I am writing this post? Yes, due to the snow I am stuck at home today and have decided to continue posting on my blog, even though I did so yesterday:http://everythingfootballandotherstuff.blogspot.com/2010/12/football-manager-blogging-futre.html
With only two Premier league games on this weekend, It still managed to produce a sixth against seventh clash and one of the saves of the season. With Sunderland not having lost a game at home all season, Bolton came to the Stadium of Light in form having previously beaten Lancashire rivals Blackburn, who's new owners had sacked big Sam, requiring more entertaining football. That they were't able to deliver, with Ryan Nelsen capitalising on a mistake by the West Ham keeper Ruud Boffin, making his debut in the Premier league for West Ham. They then equalised late in the second half with Scott Parker going on a mazy run and the ball eventually falling to substitute Junior Stanislas to smash home, Which meant Avram Grant would need a win from one of his next two matches to keep his job. In the lunchtime kick-off, Danny Welbeck, on loan from Manchester United, headed in from Darren Bent's shot, and has now scored five goals in his last six games.
It wasn't all Sunderland though, with Craig Gordon having to pull of on of the saves of the season to stop a Zat Knight shot from two yards out. In the Championship, Ipswich managed to beat the weather and Leicester 3-0 to stop a run of six consecutive defeats. In Europe, Lazio closed the gap on Leader A.C Milan, Who lost at home to Roma with the goal from Boriello, who is on Loan from Milan. Lazio then beat  Udinese 3-2 with help from a last minute own goal by Zapata, whilst Chievo scored a 90th minute goal to draw with Juventus. In Spain Barcelona left for their Christmas Break in high spirits by beating rivals Espanyol 5-1 with braces from Pedro and Villa, and a goal from xavi, who has been nominated along with Iniesta and Messi for the FIFA ballon d'or. With only one more possible Premier league fixture with Man.City playing Everton, there was controversy over why the Chelsea-Man.U game was cancelled twenty-seven hours before kick-off, And Chelsea also having under-soil heating. This will cause a congested fixture list for the two teams, especially Man.U who's previous game was cancelled. Depending on how far the teams go in the Champions league and F.A Cup, Their fixture list will become very congested, which has currently been a problem for Chelsea with their squad-depth. There is an article of this on the Daily Mail website, here is the link-http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1339878/Why-Chelsea-v-Manchester-United-called--Ipswich-managed-beat-freezing-conditions.html. Thanks for reading, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE vote on my poll regards to yesterday's post. That's all for now readers!

Premier league, week 16, Chelsea losing ground, Arsenal go top

In week sixteen of the Premier League, Chelsea conceded a late equalizer at Stamford Bridge to continue their winless, streak, last defeating Fulham four games ago. If this is the best Chelsea can do their form of November will carry on till December as they play title rivals Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal and in-form Bolton wanderers. Chelsea did have captain John Terry and Michael Essien back but that wasn't enough as Drogba converted a penalty and Terry hit the crossbar. Meanwhile, in north London, Arsenal managed to go top with two magical goals from Samir Nasri, The pick of the lot being when dummying two Fulham defenders and calmly slotting past Mark Schwarser. Elsewhere, in Italy, A.C Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A by beating Brescia 3-0 at the San.Siro with first half goals from Boateng, Robiniho and Ibrahimovic. Lazio kept up the heat with them though by beating Inter Milan 3-1, who now have the world club championship to compete. Juventus also won 3-1 at Catania with two goals from  Fabio Quaglariella and a late Chievo equaliser ensured them a 2-2 draw with Roma. In Spain Barcelona brushed past Osasuna 3-0 with a brace from Messi and Pedro getting his fourth goal of the season. Real Madrid kept up the pressure with two second half goals from Ronaldo to beat rivals Valencia 2-0. That's all for now, ad I'll publish next week's game round-up, including the all important London Derby of Tottenham against Chelsea and Manchester United against Arsenal!
